Land uses have been classified in residential, peri-urban, commercial, manufacturing, public, semi-public facilities and utilities, multiple use, recreation and open space, water bodies, forest, special reservation zone, conservation and traffic and transportation use. The HMDA has incorporated special reservation zone for protection of heritage buildings and precincts, defence and military land and bio-conservation zone.
