I use this for a few different things, one for rhythm tracks for the jazz trio I play in, another is for playing backing tracks for practise and the last one is just playing guitar for fun.
I'm going to get my only, but big complaint in first. It is sold as having a software loop manager which allows you to create and download a library of loops to the JamMan. I've been waiting a year now and it still does not work with Windows Digitech say they are working on it, but they clearly are not. Luckily I have an old laptop that is running Windows 7 and JamManager works fine on it, but it is a real pain to have to switch to another computer.
Having said that, the JamMan is by far the best product for my needs and is much cheaper than any other looper with equivalent capabilities. The JamMan is very solidly built and the foot switches work very well and are conveniently placed. It is very well equipped with inputs and outputs and the ergonomics are pretty good.
It has a lot of functionality and therefore has a lot of buttons, many with multiple uses, and I have had to spend a lot of time with the manual which is good to learn how to use it. You can get it to do simple things very easily but if you want to use some of the more advanced functions you will have to spend some time reading.
I especially like the fact that you can set it to record as soon as you start to play, and automatically fit the recording into the time slot when you press stop. That makes it much easier to deal with timing issues. You can also change the tempo on playback which is really handy.
One little grouse is that you can change the tempo before you start but not during playback - but you can buy an add-on pedal that will allow you to do so. That seems a bit silly. The storage capability is infinite - you can plug in an SDHC card and get 99 more loop locations, and you can buy as many SDHC cards as you need although one is probably enough for most people. The sound quality is just excellent! Every instrument I have tried with it - guitar, bass guitar, percussion instruments - sounds exactly as I am hearing it in the room.
It's quite hard to get the relative volume of the instruments right if you do overdubs - once you've recorded the overdub you can't adjust the instrument volumes.
You can do that on some of the Boss pedals but they are a lot more expensive. In summary the JamMan Stereo is an excellent looper with lots of capabilities.
It's a real shame about the lack of Windows 10 support for JamManager. Please give us the reason for your assessment in the following text box and — if possible — your e-mail address for further questions. Send report. I haven't yet used all the features available on this looper, but it is great so far, and very good price from Thomann. Not the most up to date looper, and not the highest quality sample rate, but certainly good enough for most purposes and you'd pay a lot more for a higher sample rate with equivalent performance.
I'm not going to be performing with this, it will be a practice tool for me, and it is proving to be invaluable for that. This is a bit more complex than some looper pedals, such as the Ditto range, which I've had before, but it can do so much more, especially in storing and recalling loops. A really useful pedal, and delivered quicky by Thomann in time for the COVID lockdown period - an ideal time to get some practice time in!
Very solid build quality. Built in Rythms great for practice Stereo, I hooked up 2 amps at this moment. This was my first looper ever. I used this unit for a while then sold it. It's well built and sounds good, but it's just a bit hard for me to use it and I think its features are rather limited. When recording vocal loops it's hard to hit the button exactly at the moment you need it - the buttons are rather heavy, but I believe you can get used to this.
I thought I'd be able to record different parts like verse and chorus and switch between them easily without changing the tempo, but it looks like it's not possible with this looper. It's good for basic stuff, but you don't have much control over what it does. The interface is not very intuitive. Read all reviews Rate product. Free shipping incl.

Digitech JamMan Stereo
Good memory, and provides the option of backing up to your computer. Can store a massive 99 loops onboard, which can be easily recalled. This is the older model JamMan, however, so it has fewer bells and whistles than the newer JamMan Stereo. You are certainly not alone. This leads to a lot of competition between the two pedals, and they are in many ways easily comparable. The manufacturing rivalry between Digitech and Boss does stand out, and they are similar in more ways than just appearances. In fact, both manufacturers offer us loopers with a lot of the same functions.
Digitech JamMan Review
The six-hour-plus memory available with a 2GB card turns the JamMan into a very serious piece of kit. For now, at least, the JamMan is state-of-the-art. Whether you want to use it to create new parts or harmony lines, to voice entire backing tracks, or even to simply practise, the JamMan is extremely powerful and could certainly change the way many of us approach our performance. It's doubtful that DigiTech can be accused of industrial espionage, but there's little doubt that this latest JamMan pedal is based directly on Boss's Twin Pedal format. Outwardly it seems an almost blatant copy, with its dual width pedal size, main controls and central display in the top section and two large rubber-topped footswitches below.
