For many, ritual is a way to formally connect with specific currents of energy. The rituals in this book are intended to align one's soul with the "Death Energy". One might ask, what is "Death Energy"? Simply expressed, it is the current of transition.

This book is beautiful and I consider it a piece of art in and of itself. The gilding and font are wonderful. The text of the book certainly puts one in the mindset of necromancy and is an interesting read. Some people may be upset by the content, such as sleeping with corpses, BUT the author does so in an almost academic way.

Most of the other texts on necromancy are done as sensationalized "look at how dark and disturbing I am" kind of texts, this book is not. The author has a genuine affinity for the subject matter and clearly conveys that. If you have any interest in necromancy, I recommend this book if only to help you get into the spirit of things or just to appreciate the subject and the beautiful book itself. Honestly, I was a little surprised by the very short read that this book is, I've been a practicing Pagan occultist for a little over seven years now and never have I come by such a skinny little thing; I downed it in less than one afternoon, fifty pages.

Although, the actual rituals and meditations, in my opinion would take some time to do which is a good thing, as a resting period between rituals is always advisable. I ordered it in conjunction with another book and it got here first, which pleasantly surprised me. I think the only downfall of this book is that it does not go into very much detail. It also has some odd requirements; for instance: I for one, never much used astrological timing with my rituals, but they're very much needed here, as is access to either bones or some other "biomatter" materials, access to some Mausoleums or a very large, secluded graveyard, neither of which is a problem if you're in the Philippines, but in America where these things are becoming a bit pricier and or hard to come by.

Basically, it is a great read if you can get by the font, very useful if you have access to the materials mentioned and a couple others I either forgot or omitted , but is in itself an eye-opening read. I'm a little on the fence about this book, but I have a strong feeling that I'll make use of it in the very near future.

I think however, that Wendell could have done a much better job. Oh well. A few years ago I told a buddy of mine that I wanted to start studying the occult. His reply was it's just stuff gothic kids write up in their rooms.

Is the author Silver Raven Wolf's "dark" and "scary" sister? Honestly I would give this book no stars if that were possible. Okay look, the book has a neat little cover, but it is very thin. It's corny and offers nothing I haven't read before.

I could have wrote this crock and I'm still a beginning student in professional writing. Do not waste your money unless you are into crap like Silver RavenWolf and the likes.

In one part of the book it she tells you in parentheses that you can obtain certain items at a hardware store. Sure she's just being helpful right? Think if you read the Book of the Law and it said for your athame, you may want to visit your local black smith or the Key of Solomon said Personally, I think the slaughtering of cute little baby goats is wrong and I condemn any magician for doing so??????

It doesn't matter ifone agrees with the ethic or not, I find it in bad tase even thogh I look at any grimoir as a self help book in some ways. The Necromantic Ritual Book by Leilah Wendell

I was fairly surprised with this one. It explains how the prospective necromancer must spend a night of contemplation in contact with a corpse. At this point, alarm bells were going off in my head. If this was just the preparation, what would the more adept rituals entail?
